AMERICAN COUNCIL OF LEARNED SOCIETIES

     The ASCL is a constituent society of the American Council of Learned Societies.  The ASCL delegate to the Council is David S. Clark and the ASCL administrative officer to the Council is James A.R. Nafziger.  The Council is a non-profit federation of over 60 national scholarly organizations with the mission to advance humanistic studies in all fields of learning and to strengthen relations among the national societies devoted to such studies. Five law-related societies, including the ASCL, are currently constituent members.

    The Council's activities can be divided among the categories of:  (1) fellowship and grant programs; (2) international programs; (3) education projects; (4) publication projects; and (5) the conference of administrative officers.  For more information, please click here.
